I began practicing yoga 25 years ago as a counterbalance to all the adventure sports I was doing and I’ve been teaching for the last 16. Pilates came later, initially to reduce the amount of money I was spending on physios and osteopaths!! But it soon became a no-brainer to teach and pass on the secrets to keeping an injury-free body!
I am passionate about helping others reach their full potential whether that means finding and achieving a state of relaxation in yoga or using muscles you didn’t know existed in Pilates.
Yoga and Pilates should never be intimidating but it’s hard not to be with so much emphasis on the body and image in social media today. As a teacher, I am happiest when a student has grasped and understood a movement and applied it to their body with awareness not by how many reps they achieve. Age, strength or flexibility should never be an obstacle to starting. It’s all about clearing a bit of space in our minds and lives for something new that we know will benefit us.
